A longtime tradition and celebration took place Sunday night for the Charlottesville community in honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
People gathered at Mount Zion First African Baptist Church to celebrate the life and achievements of Dr. King. The program featured songs, dances and some speeches.
Sunday's event kicks off an entire month of celebrating and honoring King through dozens of events.
