One local church is celebrating one year of using solar energy.
Thomas Jefferson Memorial Church - Unitarian Universalist installed solar panels last year, which have been providing 29-percent of the power used by the church.
Sun and sustainability are most than just topics for Sunday's service; they're an important part of everything they do at the church.
"Not only the facilities, but also our worship services, our religious education to integrate the idea of sustainability into just about everything we do," said Sharon Baiocco, who is with the church.
Next on their list is to install new windows in the church's sanctuary.
