A local church sent 10,000 meals to third-world countries in need.

Members of the Broadus Memorial Baptist Church spent Saturday morning packaging and boxing up those meals.

They raised more than $2,500 to participate in the Stop Hunger Now program which will distribute their meals all over the world.

This is the church's first time working with the organization church members call this a special experience.

"Its incredible to see the compassion and to see the people working together," said Pastor David Meadors. "All ages, from young to old and in between, all working together, there's a place for everybody doing this. And its just really inspiring."

He says they hope to do the same event again and raise more money to give more meals to those who need them.
