Local Churches Incorporate Memorial Day Into Service

May 26, 2013

Some churches around town dedicated some of their services Sunday to Memorial Day.

First Methodist Church in Charlottesville had a theme of 'No Greater Love' for its Sunday service.

Col. James O'Kelley, a retired Marine, introduced two men killed in action who were from the Charlottesville area and who used to attend First Methodist.

He says it's important to try to put what the men did in perspective by putting a face to a name.

Members of the church received a poppy on the way out.
