You probably won't see a ghost on Halloween. Ghosts don't choose a specific night for you to see them.
Rob Craighurst is the owner of Tell Me About It Tours in Charlottesville. He leads tours in May through October about ghosts seen around town.
"People ask me, 'is Charlottesville haunted?'" said Craighurst. "'Are there ghosts in Charlottesville?' I say, 'well, we've been around a long time. If there are ghosts anywhere, they're going to be here.'"
He shared some stories he hasn't told on his tour, but that people who took his tour told him.
"People ask me, will they see a ghost on my tour," said Craighurst. "I tell them, well, probably not. Because when people do tell me their stories of their own experiences, usually it's once in their life that they have an experience, and it happens when they're not expecting it."
Craighurst will lead tours again beginning in May. If you want to learn more about the ghosts of Charlottesville before May, private tours may be scheduled.
