Louisa Co. Students Get Lesson in Voting

Oct. 16, 2013

Students at Louisa County High School (LCHS) got a lesson in voting on Wednesday, ahead of the November election.

During the annual Democracy Day, seniors at LCHS interact with state and local officials as they learn about voting and politics. Afterwards, the students take part in a mock election.

Students and teachers say this exercise is especially important because many students will be voting for the first time in less than a month.

"Well I think that voting is one of the only ways that people my age and the general public has a voice, and I think it's incredibly important to use that right," says Hunter Cox, a senior at LCHS.

Students could also register to vote at this event.
