Madison County has a new leader, as Ernest Hoch was named County Administrator during a special meeting of the Board of Supervisors last week.
According to the Culpeper Star-Exponent, Hoch most recently served as a director of public works and as a city energy manager for the City of Harrisburg, PA. He also served as the director of public works and solid waste and collection in Pittsylvania County in Virginia.
Officials say Hoch's background in the private sector was a key in him standing out among the 46 applicants. He started work as county administrator last week.
The Star-Exponent reports Hoch is Madison's third county administrator, replacing Lisa Robertson, who resigned in September 2011.
