Man Faces Charges from Huntington Road Incident

July 9, 2013

Albemarle County Police charge a man in connection to recent car break-ins on Huntington Road.

23-year-old Rashaun Perkins from Bealeton has been charged with one felony count of eluding police and one misdemeanor count of hit and run of unattended property.

Police responded to Huntington Road around 3 a.m. Monday for reports of car larcenies in progress.

Police say several suspects got into a car that then sped toward Rio Road, running a stop sign, and continuing onto Pine Haven Court. That's where the car struck a parked sedan and a set of brick stairs.

The suspects ran away, though Perkins was soon caught by officers on Greenbrier Driver.

Perkins is currently being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail on a $5,000 secured bond.

Police continue their search for the two other suspects that fled the scene. Anyone with information is urged to call CrimeStoppers at (434) 977-4000
