Albemarle County Police used a TASER on a man twice Friday morning after he allegedly tried to attack an officer.
The incident happened just after midnight in the 3400 block of Seminole Trail.
An officer was called to the scene for a report of a physical disorder. Once he arrived, the officer says he was approached by two men in an aggressive and confrontational manner. The officer pulled out his TASER and says one of the men, Nicholas Morris, rushed towards him.
As Morris reportedly continued to resist arrest, more officers arrived on the scene. Morris is said to have slammed his head on the hood of a police car, causing a dent.
Two officers were able to get Morris on the ground, but he allegedly continued to fight them. One officer shot his TASER twice before being able to get Morris under control.
Morris, 27, is charged with assault on an officer, destruction of property, and drunk in public. He is being held without bond at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. His next court appearance is November 1st.
Michael Morris, Ryan Robertson and Brandon Falletta were arrested on the scene for Drunk in Public. Police say they were involved in the original disorder.
