The Virginia Department of Transportation says the Meadow Creek Parkway is one-quarter complete. The new road is between Route 250 at McIntire Road and Melbourne Road.
The road is near Charlottesville High School. According to Lou Hatter from the Virginia Department of Transportation, the Albemarle County portion of the road will be open to drivers on January 6, weather permitting.
Earlier this month, the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors voted to open its portion of the road, while the city of Charlottesville is working to finish its section. The road is scheduled to be complete in June of 2013.
