The Missoula Children's Theatre put on a performance of the play 'Jack and the Bean Stalk' at the Paramount Theater on Saturday.

The MCT is a traveling theatre company that spends one week helping a group of kids put together a play, and this week they were in Charlottesville.

Two tour actor/directors from the MCT go to a town, audition children and then start putting the play together. They only spend about 8 hours teaching the kids the play, the rest of the time is spent in rehersal.

The two T.A.D's in Charlottesville are Emily Usher and Kristen Paisley, and Paisley says that they want to teach kids more than just how to 'get into character.'

"The goal of Missoula Children's Theatre is to develop life skills in these kids through the experience of theatre." says Paisley.

"Things like confidence and team work, giving them something to be proud of."

The tour is taking a break for the week of the Fourth of July, but will be back on the road in Marion, Va the week after that.
