An Albemarle County man was seriously injured after a motorcycle collided with a car on Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened on the 1500 block of Garth Road near Millington Road shortly before 4 p.m. The 26-year-old driver of the motorcycle was taken by helicopter to the University of Virginia Medical Center with serious injuries.
As of 8 p.m. Saturday, police said his injuries are not life-threatening.
Two adults and a child in the other car involved were not injured.
The investigation is ongoing, but police say the motorcycle's speed is likely a factor in the crash. Garth Road closed for much of the afternoon as the investigation continued, but it reopened around 7:30 p.m.
