UPDATE:

Virginia State Police have identified the driver of a motorcycle that died in an accident Saturday in Nelson County.

Police say 17-year-old Elias Jones of Pamplin was traveling on Route 151 in Nelson near the Devil's Backbone brewery when he approached a sharp curve and lost control. Jones ran off the side of the road and was thrown from the motorcycle.

Police say Jones died at the scene, adding that he was wearing his helmet.

The crash remains under investigation.

One person has died in Nelson County after a motorcycle accident closed Route 151 near Devil's Backbone Brewery.

Newsplex media partner Nelson County Life reported the story on its website Saturday afternoon. Crews closed Route 151 in both directions just south of Route 664.

Authorities on the scene told Nelson County Life that one person, apparently a passenger on the motorcycle, had died on the scene.

As of 5:30 p.m., Route 151 had reopened in both directions.
