Several people expressed concern at an Albemarle County Board of Supervisors meeting over a PGA-style course that has been proposed by the Trump organization.
Neighbors to the site say they are worried about the environmental impacts of maintaining such a course in the area.
One woman, who lives next to Trump Winery, said she is concerned about her well water supply, because the area is prone to droughts.
"I lost my well in 2005, and I know Mrs. Kluge, who owned the property previous to Mr. Trump had a well problem herself," said Kathleen Klumpp. "The well went dry."
Opponents are asking the board to collect more information on the groundwater supply before allowing the golf course to move forward.
