New Information on Nelson Co. Bank Robbery

June 27, 2013

Police release surveillance camera footage from a robbery that occurred at the BB&T Bank in Nelson County.

Detectives say a man wearing a floppy hat and a bandanna covering his face walked into the bank located off Route 151 on Wednesday. The suspect waved a gun at the bank teller and walked out with an undisclosed amount of cash.

FBI agents and Virginia State Police have spent the past two days searching for the suspect, who is described as a black man, standing 6'2 tall.

Detectives say they have collected some evidence at the scene, which is being processed in a crime lab.

Law enforcement officials are hopeful those clues will help identify a suspect.
