Newsplex Presents Check to First Tee Golf Program

Nov. 22, 2013

The Newsplex and its partners presented a check for $3,750 to the local chapter of the First Tee on Friday. The First Tee program uses golf to promote character development in kids.

The money goes to help provide scholarships, equipment and travel for kids in the local chapter.

"When the local chapter is a little short on money, we can always turn to one of our neighboring partners, the Newsplex, to pick up the tab to make sure that the participants' needs are met," First Tee Executive Director Phillip Seay said.

This was the 4th year people could purchase a golf-plex card.

In total, the Newsplex has contributed more than $12,500 to the First Tee program.
