Two Danville area men and Culpeper woman face drug charges following a raid on a West Edmondson Street home Friday night.
44-year-old Paula Mary Shope, 28-year-old Kenneth Darnell Jones, and 29-year-old Kameron Jermaine Davis have been charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine. Jones has also been charged with providing false identification to law enforcement.
Culpeper Police Lt. Tim Chilton said the investigation into alleged drug dealing from the West Edmondson Street address has been ongoing, off and on, for about a year. However, controlled buys during the past weeks allowed police to seek a search warrant.
The trio allegedly sold drugs with a marked police parked car nearby.
“It was a brazen and open defiance to the law to sell narcotics in front of a parked unoccupied police car,” said Capt. Ricky Pinksaw.
About 8:45 PM on Friday, members of the joint police and sheriff’s SWAT Team entered the house and secured it for a search of the premises
Police recovered suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of about $6,500 along with paraphernalia associated with packaging for sale.
