Emmet Street in Charlottesville will be closed overnight on June 17 and 18 in the area of the McCormick Road bridge. The road will be closed each night from 9pm to 6am.
The closure will allow the Virginia Department of Transportation and its contractor to install new bridge beams on the McCormick Road bridge.
The McCormick Road bridge project began on May 20 and will finish in late July. The project involves replacing the superstructure of the aged bridge, which had been posted with an eight-ton weight limit.
