Paramount Theater Hosting Benefit Concert for Habitat for Humanity

Oct. 10, 2013

Community members are coming together Thursday night for Habitat for Humanity's Raise the Roof benefit concert.

The concert is part of World Habitat Day, and will be taking place at the Paramount Theater on Charlottesville's Downtown Mall.

Local musicians The Terri Allard Trio and the Free Bridge Quintet with special guest Pianist Cyrus Chestnut are scheduled to perform. The event will also premier a short film by local artists Billy Hunt and Brian Wimer.

Money raised from the event will go toward Habitat for Humanity's project.

"We are in the middle of executing what we call Project 20, which is our promise to this community that we're going to build a minimum of 20 homes a year each and every year until housing poverty in Charlottesville is a thing of the past," Executive Director Dan Rosensweig said.

The benefit concert starts at 8:30 PM, and is sold out.
