Phillip Seay at his candidacy announcement at the Albemarle County office building.
July 24, 2013
Phillip Seay has announced his candidacy for the Jack Joett seat on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors, he will run as an independent.
Current supervisors Keny Boyd, Rodney Thomas, and Duane Snow attended his announcement at the Albemarle County office building on July 24.
Seay says that he thinks he will win because he thinks he is the kind of candidate that anyone can relate to.
"I'm an everyman. I'm coming out of nowhere. You can tell by the money that I have raised so far. This is going to be a stretch and I still believe that a guy like me or anyone out there can get into local politics and maybe make a difference." says Seay.
Dennis Rooker currently holds the Jack Joett seat on the Board of Supervisors, but says he will not run for re-election.
