Albemarle County's Commonwealth's Attorney says no charges will be filed against an officer who fired at a suspect last December.

Officials have closed their investigation into a standoff that resulted in the murder-suicide on Rio Mills Road.

Police were responding to a 911 call about an arguement, and the officer found Frank Davis Jr. standing over 50 year-old James Marshall with a gun.

Authorities say 44 year-old Davis pointed his gun at an officer, at which point the officer fired at Davis but missed.

Davis fled into a nearby garage, leading to a standoff with police that lasted around six hours.

Investigators report that Davis died from a self-inflicted gunshot in the garage after fatally shooting Marshall.
