April 7, 20134

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A man who escaped while being taken to the Richmond City Jail is back in custody.

Richmond police say members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task force found 20-year-old Kip Merle Rannels hiding in a Richmond residence around 7 a.m. Sunday.

Police say Rannels escaped Thursday after he was arrested on burglary and grand larceny charges. He pulled loose from an officer while being removed from a police wagon at the jail and ran.

Rannels now faces an escape charge, along with the original charges.
