Police Investigating Car Larcenies in Crozet, Ivy

The Albemarle County Police Department is investigating a rash of larcenies from vehicles in the Crozet/Ivy area.

The larcenies were first brought the police’s attention in early May and have continued to occur.

Several neighborhoods in the western portion of Albemarle County have experienced car break-ins. The thief or thieves are taking cash, change, electronics and other items from the vehicles.

The cars that are being targeted have all been unlocked at the time of the larceny.

If you have had anything stolen from your vehicle or have observed any suspicious activity, please contact the Albemarle County Police Department at 434-296-5807 and ask for Detective Lavin or contact Crime Stoppers at 434-977-4000.

Police are providing extra patrols in the area throughout the course of this investigation.
