Police have released the 911 tapes from a Charlottesville Kroger store where a man walked in with an assault rifle over the weekend.

Police believe the man was trying to make a statement about The Second Amendment.

The man with the rifle did not harm anyone, but several people called 911.

This is what a store employee said to a 911 operator:
Caller: We had somebody walk in with an assault rifle
911: OK, what are they doing?
Caller: Uh, they went to their car, came back in with an assault rifle and are walking around the store
911: OK, can you describe him for me?
Caller: No I can't. I had it reported to me by a customer.
911: So, do you know if it's a male, female?
Caller: It's a male. She said a man just walked in here with an assault rifle.
911: OK, is he threatening anybody?
Caller: Uh, not yet.
911: Not yet? What do you mean by not yet?
Caller: I mean, we haven't heard of anything yet, no.
911: OK.

The unidentified man is not facing any charges. Police say he had a license for the weapon.
