Culpeper police are seeking help from the public in identifying two men suspected of an assault and home invasion.
The alleged incident occurred in the 400 block of Macoy Avenue on October 21st.
According to police an 86 year-old man was assaulted by two men when he answered the door at his home. The two men then forced their way in and rummaged through his belongings.
The elderly victim was transported to Culpeper Regional Hospital and later transferred to the University of Virginia Medical Center due to the severity of his injuries.
“We have looked into all the leads provided so far, but we need more information,” said Detective Richard Brooking. “We hope that someone will step forward to help us solve this violent crime.”
One of the suspects is described as white male, in his 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches or 10 inches tall. The second man was wearing a hooded sweatshirt.
