PRINCE GEORGE, Va. (AP) - Prince George County is celebrating the 310th anniversary of its founding.
The weekend celebration included a reading of the documents founding the county and the grand opening of a new exhibit at the Prince George County Heritage Center.
Heritage center executive director Carol Bowman tells The Progress-Index that the celebration recognizes early settlements at an area formerly called Jordan's Journey.
The center's new exhibit includes armor found at Jordan's Journey and other artifacts on loan from the Virginia Department of Historic Resources.
