Racial Slur Found on Burned Building

February 26, 2013

Locals call it a shocking incident. "The N-word" spray painted on the front exterior of what's left of a charred building, K&K Towing.

The Louisa County Fire Department tried to save the burning building, but it was too late. Along side of the main garage, a shed also heavily damage by the fire.

"We're in 2013, we should not worry about stuff like that anymore," said Joe Anile, owner of Joe's Place, a nearby business in Mineral.

K&K towing is black owned, and community members say they're shocked that someone would spray paint the building with a racial slur.

Investigators with the Louisa County Sheriff's Department says they are working on both incidents. They would not comment on whether or not the fire and vandalism are connected.

"In addition to the fire, the vandalism that was discovered on the property is offensive and will certainly be investigated along with the fire to be determined if charges can be placed," said Scott Reynolds of the Louisa County Sheriff Office.

An employee of K&K Towing, who didn't want to be identified, believes that a person or group of people are responsible for both crimes.
