Saturday was the last day for the Top 100 Camp at the John Paul Jones Arena. High school basketball players uses camps like the Top 100 Camp to hone their skills against talented opponents and hopefully get noticed by schools willing to offer scholarships.

But its not just the players getting valuable experience on the court, the referees are benefiting as well.

Reggie Greenwood contracts referees for three basketball leagues on the East Coast, as well as the Top 100 Camp, and he says this is a great place to find new talent.

Greenwood isn't alone out there, either. Dwayne Gladden got started in high school basketball and now refs the NCAA tournament. He was hired by Greenwood after refereeing a camp, and comes back to offer advise to new refs, he says, to give back to a game that has given so much to him.

And its not just new referees using the camp, division 1 refs are coming out too.

Chuck Bulloch has been coming to the camp for three years, and says he keeps coming back because the skill of the players keeps him on his toes and advice from Greenwood and Gladden is invaluable. He was invited to the Top 100 Camp the first time he came, and got a job ref'ing right afterwards.
