UPDATE: Kitchen Fire in Home on Anderson Street

Charlottesville firefighters respond to a kitchen fire on Anderson Street.

Heavy smoke was seen coming from the home when firefighters arrived before noon on Monday.

The fire was around the stove area of the kitchen, which crews quickly extinguished.

Investigators have determined that the fire was caused by an electrical malfunction.

Everyone in the house got out safely.
