A decade-long project to beautify downtown Scottsville is wrapping up.
Town officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Scottsville Farmer's Market Pavilion to mark the end of years of improvement work in the town.
The capstone of the work is Scottsville's streetscaping project.
Mayor Barry Grove said the goal of all the improvement projects was making Scottsville a more attractive place to live and visit. He calls the work and the mission a success.
"All the utilities are underground now, which makes a huge difference in the appearance of the town. All the sidewalks have been repaired or replaced. A lot of brick work has gone in -- brick walls, brick sidewalks," Grove said.
Despite some delays, Grove said the entire project was completed on time and on budget.
