Drivers honked and children shouted out when seeing Santa Claus walking down Scottsville's sidewalks on Tuesday evening.
It's an annual Santa sighting.
Each Christmas Eve, a person dressed as Santa Claus gives out candy to passersby in Scottsville. The secret santa handed out candy bars tied to candy canes in the shape of a sled.
"The real Santa, he brings presents to everybody in the world. I just, I help him bring kids little things so they have a more memorable Christmas," said the Scottsville Santa, who did not want to give his name.
After these random acts of kindness, he and his family, traveling in two pickup trucks, visit several families in need and give them gifts.
"We find families that are struggling in the community and we buy for them, and then just communicate with their parents to get them presents on Christmas Eve."
His family of 12 all save money from their paychecks each week to buy Christmas toys and games.
"Seeing the joy on the kids faces, it makes it all worth it, especially walking through town, seeing the people roll the windows down and yell for Santa all makes it worth it," he said.
This santa has been giving out gifts for 3 years. He is carrying on the gift giving from his grandfather, who began the family tradition.
