You've heard of a marathon or triathlon but for the second year in a row the Common Ground Healing Arts fundraised with a Sit-a-thon.
The non-profit Common Grounds Healing Arts Center held its Sit-a-thon Saturday at The Haven. Participants raised money, grabbed a cushion and meditated for two hours straight.
Nearly 50 people signed up for the event or walked in to try it out.
The center provides classes and all types of healing arts including acupuncture and massages on a sliding scale for the whole community so board members say this is extremely helpful to keep offering those things.
This year, the group raised $10,000 and plans to hold the event again next year.
