A single-vehicle crash early Friday morning claimed the life of a Stanardsville man.
Virginia State Police say 34-year-old Charles J. Marshall was driving on Route 622, about a mile south of Route 33, in Greene County early Friday morning. Police say Marshall's 1985 Ford Mustang ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
The accident happened around 1:10 a.m.
Police say marshall was not wearing a seat belt at the time and was thrown from his car. He died at the scene.
The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.
