State Police Investigating Tour Bus Crash

Virginia state police say the driver of a passenger tour bus has been charged after the bus went into a ditch along the Eastern Shore and 13 people suffered minor injuries.

Officials say the crash occurred shortly after 6 a.m. Saturday in Machipongo. The bus was reportedly heading from New York to Virginia Beach. Vision Tours leased the bus from its owner, ABC Bus Leasing of Faribault, Minn.

The bus driver, 59-year-old Jeffrey Williams, was charged with failure to keep a vehicle on the roadway.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
