The first ever United Way Day of Sharing took place in Charlottesville on Wednesday.
The event is focused on donating supplies to local non-profits and schools.
September was their annual Day of Caring, but with the help of the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce, the United Way is donating supplies like pencils, flash drives, and bookshelves.
But it's not just about the donations. It also helps community groups learn about each other.
The goal is to bring together business and nonprofit organizations in the community.
Over 50 nonprofits put together a wish-list of supplies needed in their organization. The United Way is expected to see over 450 items donated.
