RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Traffic on Interstate 95 backed up for more than 9 miles after a tractor-trailer hauling squash overturned in Hanover County.
Police says the accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. Sunday when the tractor-trailer ran off the road and hit a guardrail. It overturned and hit an overhead sign post spanning the northbound lanes.
The driver, 42-year-old Elijah Webster of Lakeland, Fla., was charged with reckless driving. He was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/XPDqKm ) reports that the interstate's left and center lanes were closed for more than eight hours. Traffic at one point was backed up for more than 9 miles just south of the Parham Road exit in Richmond.
