Tuition Could Rise for UVa. Students

March 29, 2013

University of Virginia students could see an increase in tuition and fees over the next several years.

Starting for the 2013-14 academic year, tuition would increase by 2.9% for in state students, and 3.9% for out of state students.

Third and fourth year students could see a $500 fee that would increase annually.

The proposal is part of a four year financial plan, and a pay raise for faculty and professors.

The proposed changes still have to be approved by UVa's Board of Visitors, but administrators say the augmented increase are modest.
