The University of Virginia is wrapping up its celebration of Earth Week today with a special event on Grounds.
UVa. hosting its annual Earth Week Expo on this Earth Day. The event features students, groups from the university, and other outside organizations showing off their sustainability efforts.
The university is highlighting its own mission to reduce its carbon and nitrogen footprints, which might be something you don't actively see on Grounds.
“We really just want to show people the diversity of sustainability on Grounds, as well as how it's evolved over time, and just the enormous amount of initiatives that are going on,” said Erica Stratton with the UVa. Sustainability Office.
Another initiative includes surveying students about reusable water bottles and tap water to reduce the amount of plastic on grounds.
