A federal grant will make it easier for doctors with the University of Virginia Health System to meet with seriously ill patients via video-conference.
The U.S. Department of agriculture has allocated more than $253,000 to the program designed to help patients living in rural locations.
According to the Daily Progress, the system will set up video-conferencing locations at rehab centers, nursing homes and dialysis centers throughout Central Virginia.
Officials with UVa. Health System say the video-conferencing system will allow chronically ill patients more opportunities to follow-up with their doctors.
