UVa Students Approve Some Changes to Honor System

March 4, 2013

The University of Virginia's honor system has undergone a change.

Students approved a proposal that allows those accused of an honor violation to avoid expulsion if they confess.

Students who admit guilt would be suspended for a year.

A proposal to eliminate juries of random students was rejected.

The honor system prohibits UVa. students from lying, cheating or stealing.
