UVa. students will vote this week on a proposed change to the school’s honor system.
The proposal would eliminate juries of random students. It will also give accused persons the opportunity to confess, and face a one-year suspension, instead of expulsion.
At least ten percent of the students must vote, and sixty percent of the vote is required for the proposal to pass.
If approved, it would be the first major chance to the system in years.
Voting will take place Monday through Thursday.
