The rainy weather has caused another delay for VDOT's road work on Interstate 64.
The work is to remove an area of unstable soil from Afton Mountain.
Last week's rain cancelled a few days of work, which was supposed to resume on Monday, but has again been delayed.
VDOT has scheduled for crews to resume work on Wednesday and Thursday, May 8-9.
Work is expected to resume on Wednesday, weather permitting.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, traffic on I-64 will be restricted in both directions for 30-45 minutes between Exit 107 and Exit 99. The restrictions will continue through the day, ending between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
The westbound right shoulder will be closed and work zone activity will begin at 7 a.m. each day.
The work is will continue Thursday, and again next Monday through Thursday, May 13-16.
VDOT suggests using Route 250 as an alternate route.
