Va man accidentally kills self with gun at party
GOOCHLAND, Va. (AP) - Police say a Goochland County man accidentally killed himself while playing a Russian roulette-type game at a party.
Goochland County Sheriff James Agnew identified the victim as 20-year-old Christopher Ryan Benson.
Agnew tells media outlets that the shooting occurred late Thursday.
Agnew says 20-year-old David Cash Raymond brought the .22-caliber revolver out and said it wasn't loaded. Raymond put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger twice. Nothing happened and Raymond put the gun down. Benson picked it up, put it to his head and pulled the trigger, fatally shooting himself.
Police charged Raymond with reckless handling of a firearm.
Benson was an Army reservist.
