BEDFORD, Va. (AP) - A Goodview man will spend 18 months in prison for stealing and deliberately crashing more than a half-dozen vehicles.
Assistant commonwealth's attorney Stephanie Ayers tells The Roanoke Times that some vehicles were crashed into other vehicles at a repair shop lot. Some were crashed into trees. Others were run over a hill.
She says 19-year-old Houston Lee Pugh and a juvenile co-defendant "basically played bumper cars."
Pugh was sentenced last week after pleading guilty in Bedford County Circuit Court to grand larceny of a vehicle and property damage. He also must pay more than $8,800 in restitution.
