The Central Chapter of the Virginia Police Benevolent Association has announced its endorsements for the Albemarle Board of Supervisors.

They are endorsing Republican Duane Snow, Independent Diantha McKeel and Democrats Brad Sheffield and Jane Dittmar.

They say that they chose those candidates because they support increasing manpower on the force, which they feel is one of the biggest problems facing police departments.

"The manpower issue is a big problem with the Albemarle County Police. There is not enough officers to cover the calls for service we get in the territories we have. We're shooting for more manpower." PBA Central Chapter President Michael Wells.

The Association represents some Albemarle Police Officers but is not affiliated with the ACPD.
