ROCKY MOUNT, Va. (AP) - A Rocky Mount man has been captured a day after escaping from the Franklin County sheriff's office.
Media outlets report 26-year-old Steven Ray Dillon II was taken into custody without incident Saturday just outside Rocky Mount.
The sheriff's office says in a statement that Dillon originally was arrested Friday on charges of breaking and entering and grand larceny. He was processed at the courthouse complex and fled on foot from the sheriff's office.
The statement says deputies arrested Dillon on Saturday during a traffic stop. He faces an additional charge of felony escape and is being held without bond.
