July 10, 2013 A new Wal-Mart Supercenter opened to the public Wednesday morning in Orange County.
The new store is a few miles from the original location near the Wilderness Battlefield on Route-3.
Wal-Mart had initially settled on a site that was within a cannonball's shot of the Wilderness, one of the most hallowed battlefield sites of the Civil War.
The first location sparked an outcry among historians and battlefield preservationists.
Wal-Mart gave in, and moved the store a few miles down the road.
