C'ville Women's Four Miler Breaks Fundraising Record

The 2013 Charlottesville Women's Four Miler raised more than $370,000 for breast cancer research and care at UVa, according to an e-mail from the race directors Cynthia and Audrey Lorenzoni. That is the largest amount raised since the beginning of the race, 31-years ago.

Just under 30 women raised more than $1,000 a piece.

The top five individual fundraisers are:

1. Jennie Sue Minor - $10,195
2. Ann Marie Smith - $5,553
3. Natalie Krovetz - $5,506
4. Alix Paget-Brown - $5,200
5. Vicky Eicher - $4,133

The top fundraising team was The Gulch Girls, who raised $13,000, which averages out to $1,625 a person.

The Charlottesville Women's Four Miler was run on August 31, 2013. Over 3,000 women participated in the race.
