- Wednesday night there were a number of areas without power, and tree limbs scattered in local roadways. Near Zion Crossroads one family had more to worry about that just their power being out.

- The Salvation Army kicked off its annual Back to School Supplies Drive on Monday. Along with local businesses and sponsors, the fundraiser hopes to collect more supplies this year than in the past.
