Officials at the Charlottesville Albemarle Health Department say swine flu clinics targeting high risk groups are still being run.

So far, the Thomas Jefferson Health District has administered 13,245 doses of the H1N1 vaccination. 9,400 of those have been through school based clinics.

Monday, Albemarle County held its last vaccination clinic for elementary school students.

Students at the University of Virginia are continuing with immunization clinics. The next is scheduled for November 19th. Almost 800 cases of flu- like illnesses have been reported there.

As for the general public, people will have to wait until early to mid- December before adequate supplies of the vaccination are available for everyone.

Health Department officials say that flu-like cases in the commonwealth peaked the week of October 31st, but the illness has come in waves, and more outbreaks may still come.

Officials say hospitalization rates are highest among children. They say they're doing everything they can to prepare for another possible outbreak, and suggest that everyone at high risk continue to get vaccinated as soon as they can.
